What a Video Analysis entails
Seeing yourself swimming from a range of different angles and then having your stroke praised and constructively critiqued by us is a liberating experience.
We’ll identify the great elements of your stroke already there and the stroke faults which you need to work on, whether its holding your breath, arm crossovers, sinky legs, inefficient catch mechanics, overkicking or overgliding. We use a high quality HD underwater camera to film you from a range of different angles above and below the water, leaving no stone unturned!
Video analysis is a superb way to identify key areas to improve your stroke efficiency and help you to see how you need to improve. You'll take home a recorded analysis and links to training sessions to continue improving in your own training. We recommend you pop back 6-8 weeks later for a 60 minute Video Follow Up session.

Seeing your body position underwater for the first time is enlightening. Often you have no idea just how low lying your legs can be. Simple steps are taken to improve your streamlining without needing to kick hard.
Running out of air?
Holding your breath stores CO2 and makes you feel like you need to stop after 50-100m. Learn to exhale smootly and start swimming aerobically, making swimming feel much more relaxed.
You might have been taught holding onto your breath improves your buoyancy, in fact it only increases buoyancy in your chest and has a sinking effect on your legs. Exhale continuously and start swimming for longer periods with less effort.

These days most of us sit down all day, leading to rounded shoulders and a slumped posture. This reduced upper back flexibility makes extending in line with the shoulder and good alignment more challenging. We'll go through some simple ways to start swimming straighter.
Putting on the brakes?
Overly lengthening out the stroke causes hands to reach up to the surface and slows you down. Learn great catch set up to improve your propulsion and speed.
Trying to reduce your stroke count often causes dead spots in the stroke, with hands resurfacing, elbows dropped and pushing water the wrong way. This stop start effect, reduces your stroke rate, efficiency and ultimately your swimming speed.
Can't catch or feel the water?
Pulling through wide, straight or in an S shape are all ineffective ways of catching the water. Learn how to feel the water, tip your wrist, bend your elbow and push the water backwards in line with your shoulder to engage the large strong muscles in your upper back and ease the strain on your shoulders.
